Charitable Giving
"When one loves tzedeka and charity, the earth is filled with God’s loving-kindness." (Psalm 33:5)
Support our mission and ongoing commitment to tzedakah ("charity", "justice" or “righteous”) and g'milut chasadim ("acts of loving kindness"). A gift to the temple becomes a meaningful remembrance as it builds a stronger temple.
Donations can be made to funds, scholarship funds, or to honor a life-cycle event. For more information about the funds, refer to the descriptions below. To give, print the charitable giving form and send to the main office along with payment.
Fund Names and Descriptions

Special Needs Memorial Endowment Fund
|
Proceeds from this fund will be used to provide staffing, special equipment and other teaching tools for special needs students in our Religious School.

Adult Learning Fund
|
Supports Adult Education programming and Scholars- in-residence.
|
|
Building and Renovation Fund
|
Helps subsidize Temple mortgage, building maintenance and improvement, including decorative art work, and the hearing aid system.

|
Social Action Fund
|
Supports community, welfare, social justice, and human concerns.
|
|
General Fund
|
Supports the operating budget of the Temple.
|
|
Library Fund
|
Supports the purchases of Judaic books and publication for our Temple Library.

| Mitzvah Fund |
Supports our community's celebration of good times in our lives. |
|
Music Fund
|
Supports and enhances the music for services, programs, choirs and Religious School.
|
|
Prayer Book Fund
|
Supports the purchase of new prayer books. Prayer books may be inscribed i.e. “In Honor of” “In Memory of”.

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund
|
Donations to be made at the Rabbi’s discretion.

Religious School Enrichment Fund
|
Supports the general programs of the Temple Beth Zion Religious School.
|
|
Ritual Fund
|
Supports and maintains Torah scrolls, bima flowers, and supplies for holiday celebrations such as Yom Hashoah candles.

Scholar Fund
|
Supports Scholar-in-Residence programs.
|
|
Sisterhood Caring Projects
|
Provides needed services to Temple Beth Zion and its members.
|
Scholarship Funds
|
Youth Development Fund
|
Provides scholarship funds to students who need financial assistance in order to attend camps, Israel programs, and other youth events.

|
Confirmation Award
|
Provides an annual award for the outstanding Confirmand.
|
|
Youth Award
|
Provides an annual award to the outstanding member of the Youth Group.
|
|
B’nai Mitzvah Award
|
Provides an award for the outstanding Bar/Bat Mitzvah student.

Life-cycle Opportunities
Recognize a significant Life-cycle or honor friends and family by donating to the Temple. Recognize your loved ones’ birth, b’nai mitzvah, engagement, marriage, and retirement by placing a leaf in the Tree of Life in the Temple’s lobby. Commemorate the Yahrzeit of a loved one by giving.
Corporate Matching
Many Corporations match charitable giving from their employees. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. Ask your employer for forms and information and submit to the office for processing. Don’t miss this opportunity to add to your donation.
